FBH smoke in engine bay
I am used to the FBH kicking in on most of the cold mornings and the typically whiteish smoke coming out of the exhause in the wheel arch. What I have noticed today is the smoke coming out of the bottom of the shiny "silencer" device that looks like an oversized hip-flask.
Also the smoke is much more blue in colour.
What should I be calling that part and is it replaceable ?.

It is the silencer, it is replaceable but it is supposed to have a small hole on the edge and some exhaust is going to come through the bay when parked too. Any chance that you are seeing smoke drawn from below or from the vent hole?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Hi, I did wonder but I popped the bonnet up and it is defiantely coming out of the silencer. It is a while since I noticed it starting up, so am wondering if it is something that has just bulit up an dit all needs to be burnt off !.
Maybe that is just wishful thinking and I am trying to avoid paying out !.
About to take it for a little run , so will see what happens.
