Alarm going off

Does anyone have any ideas on why my alarm keeps going off? I've had the manual out and I'm trying to work out the differences between locks!
I press the lock twice but Is this how to lower the security so it's less sensitive??
Any advice welcome as you were correct with my CAN issue(better than the garage)
Thanks

Need to have it plugged in, and check the alarm triggers to see what is causing it Thumbs Up

99% of the time it is caused by the bonnet switch as this attracts dirt and oil. Part is cheap and easy to replace.

I had the same problem and to prove that it is the switch you can unplug the connector and push a piece of copper between the two terminals to simulate a closed switch. If the alarm then stays off you have your cause...

Pressing twice doesn't reduce the sensitivity, it disables the tilt (if it exists) and internal motion detection. Needed if you put the car on a ferry, leave something that moves in the car.

Our first D3 had a serious problem with the alarm going off all the time, which ISTR was something to do with incompatible software in different modules

Thanks guys!
I might get my wee local garage to plug it in their disgnostic as LR are 153 miles away!

It doesn't go off ALL the time but I just wondered if there was few things to try!
