Hi
trying to clean up my alloys but they have black spots on them, lots, especially in the corner. I think its more likely muck rather than corrosion as the fronts are slightly worse than the rears.
I have scrubbed them and have used the Autoglym, Alloy wheel cleaner. The one you spray on, leave for minute and rinse off, To be honest don't think it made one jot of difference.
Has anyone else found anything than can clean this stuff off without melting the alloys?
have taken photos but cant seem to upload them to my gallery. Computer duffer!!
cheers

If you're brave enough... Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner got my old wheels spotless, but I was very careful to apply lots of wheel wax afterwards. Not sure I'd want to experiment with the diamond cut black wheels on the D4 though!

Hi
if its a tar type contamination i use the good old WD40 if its a stain that the WD40 can not remove I use a chrome cleaner such as autosol metal cleaner. Its a cream in a tube.

I used Bilberry wheel cleaner. Doesn't contain any acid or other nasties.
You can spray it on neat or diluted...leave as long as you like AND it works FFRR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Petrol recommended to me by a a car valeter years ago - works well, but don't use it you have a tarmac driveway, any spillage will start to degrade the tarmac

I just used Bilberry for the first time. It's done a good job but I need to put in some elbow grease to finish it off. I reckon that once I've waxed the cleaned wheels, bilberry wil br a great maintenance cleaner. 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT
