20" Discovery 4 Alloys & Tyres WTD and some advice

Looking to puchase some 20". If anyone has any give me a pm.

Are tyres which are 255 50 20 (109) Y fit for the Disco 4. I am sure when I had my Disco 3 the 109 were not as they came off a RRS. Am I getting confused.... Neutral

Think the D4 weighs slightly less so get away with the lower rating?? might be wrong

Hi

Yes you are right, 109y is correct on 255 50 r20 and is rated for the D4 and 111 for D3. Thumbs Up

The 109 bit means the tyres aren't up to the minimum weight spec for the D3. Some peeps think this will cause insurance issues, others don't worry about it. There is no definitive answer to your question, only opinions.

That's practical terms, insurance company might argue differently as whilst your only just under the spec, you're under the spec. Two sides to every coin. Whistle
