Anyone tried using suspension and axle stand to switcwheels
So time to change the tyres fr the winter ones.....and got me thinking.....
...if you hit the button to lift the car up to maximum height....and then put an axle stand under the corner you are changing.....and then hit the switch to the lowest access setting........will the wheel in question be left dangling in the air?????? One of those things that makes me wonder if it's easier than jacking the car???
Thoughts - or anyone tried it??......I think it might work on a car with proper full wishbone/drop link suspension - but not sure on the Disco???

Sounds feasible but I'll let you report back first.
I had the dilemma this morning but went to my local tyre fitter. £10.00 to swap all four wheels - took 20 minutes and was all under control.

If you do what you suggest then the car will detect it is being grounded and will go into Extended Mode (two inches higher than Off-road mode) in an attempt to clear the obstruction. Indeed, this is a useful way of getting it to do just that.
There have been threads on here where people suggested ways of achieving this 'jack-free wheel change' - maybe you could search them out - but I've never tried it myself.2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)

It doesn't necessarily only fit a Clarke. My paddock jack has a 30mm hole in it and hence it fits perfectly.D4 HSE, Active Rear Diff, surround cameras, adaptive xenons, heated steering wheel, TPMS, remote park heating, centre console cooler box

Did the wheel change yesterday. To prevent the car from self-levelling put it into Normal Height, open one door and jack the car up. As long as one door is open the car doesnt raise or lower itself.
