Blew both tires out hitting a curb

Over the weekend I hit a curb and blew out both right hand side tires. What a nightmare ! Both had done less than a few thousand kms.

So, whilst inspecting there are massive rips (1"+) in the sides of both tires so that´s obviously it for them... Kapputt.

Was looking last night and saw these advertised .... Will they fit my D3 ok ? As standard, without spacers or anything ? They are off a RRS as far as I am told. I have got 255/55/19 HSE wheels at the moment, these are 275/45/20.

They are 1200€ including shipping (they are from a Spanish site as I am in Spain). Just worried they aren´t OEM but I have asked them the question. Reasonable price ?

Cheers....

Would I be right in thinking that you wouldn't have had this problem if you had used small diameter wheels with higher aspect ratio tyres?

In winter I use 17" wheels & in summer 18" which work well for me with GG ATs tyres

They are even more likely to get curb damage, not sure about the tyre sizes, there is a 'sticky' thread on here that will be able to give you the answer on that.

I'm sure someone will be along soon with the exact answer, but the rule of thumb is that if they aren't off a D3/4 then the rims and tyres are not generally rated strong enough for the weight even if the holes line up with the studs.

As I understand it, you can fit different wheels as long as they are a Land Rover accessory, however, if they are not on your vehicle documents, then you may need to have them added by an ITV centre, bit like fitting a tow bar.
Would look nice with 20inch wheels Thumbs Up

Do you mean you mix them with 2 of each ?

Or that you have a set of one and another full set of the others... ie. Summer and Winter set ?

Cheers.

Never really considered not putting Wranglers back on, have only ever replaced one set but just put the standard back on by default.

This post is now making me think again !!

So considering the two existing left hand side Wranglers are almost brand new, is it wise to swap those out and have them both on the rear then to put something else on the front, something stronger ?

What would be recommended to put onto the front assuming it is ok to mix them ? (Never thought it was OK to mix actually).

Thanks all. Cheers.

No, a set of Coopers and then a sert of GGs just put a new set of GGs on as the old ones still had tread but not enough for off raod especially mud.
Always got punctures on the Wranglers (every off road trip) none on the Coopers (road tyres) and only one on the GGs.
For road tyres the coopers were good and ok on gravel roads. GGs ok on road and good off road.
