Which tyres ?

I am now the proud owner of a low mileage 2006 D3 S in Zermatt Silver, I am after some advice on what tyres to fit. t
The car came with Pirelli Zeros, what an appropriate name, I am desperate to change them, so thought I would ask here first.
I have looked at the list of tyres that will fit my vehicle, 255/60/18 and realise that there is a limited choice, I want a tyre that will be 80% road and 20% off road, tracks and green lanes really.
Can anyone suggest a suitable tyre, I have looked at all the A/T options and all except the new General Grabbers A/Ts look to have quite an aggressive tread pattern, which would be ideal if I would driving half the time off road, which I will not in reality.

Any suggestions please.

What about Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

I've been considering them to replace my Zero's. They are a bit more expensive, but from what I hear should last substantially longer, and not too aggressive in pattern.

I have seen some comments about ATR's potentially being discontinued soon, but not sure whether that's true or not. Confused

Might be worth asking site sponsor AJS (http://www.ajstyres.co.uk - site name 'AJS4X4') for advice on anything 'rubber related'. (Of course I just mean tyres here, not... 'something for the weekend sir?') Laughing

Do General Grabber do a similar tyre to the ATR, as I am after predominantly road biased tyre with some off road capabilities, what about Toyo, don't know much about them are they any good ?

Pirelli ATR has the best on road manners of all AT tyres. So I'd have thought was exactly what you're after.

Thank you for the replies, looks like a set of Pirelli ATR's are going to be fitted to each corner and off to explore the green lanes of Northumberland. Mr. Green

I have the generals on and they are great as road tyres no or little road noise, just waiting for the white stuff to test them but overall so far a good buy.
