Constant 12v live behind radio?

I spent sometime on sunday whilst the radio panel was in pieces to try and locate a constant 12v live behind the radio, but to no avail. I was fitting a Webasto timer and thought i'd tidy up a few ciggy lighter driven feeds (snooper and phone kit)

I did a few searches on here too "+12v +live" etc but not found what I need.

I have the HK radio, so I guess the power supply to ths comes up the fibre optic cable? the centre plug only appears to be powered when in the back of radio, and then only 8v seems to be at the larger of the two red wires?

I'm after a feed for the phone kit, currently this only works when the car is alive as its piggy backed on to the feed for the ciggy lighter, can someone point me in the direction of a constant feed that I can use please

Many thanks in anticipation

Pin 11 on the 20 pin plug on radio is battery voltage .

I would take it from the fuse box ... Very easy to get the cable to the radio with the H -trim removed .

Pop a wire in here http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/displayima...&pos=4

Wiggs topman as always, I assume thats a 6.3mm spade connector. I nearly PM'd you on sunday, but thought better of it, thanks for the link to the pic

Flack, great info, and maybe something worth doing as a temp measure for the kids rear DVD's at holiday time, for now though I want a switched 12V supply to the Aux power sockets

Thanks both as always great info and help available on here Thumbs Up

Instead of the short bridge in place of the relay, could you not install a longer cable with a switch mounted in that cable run? Or some kind of relay switch in place of the existing relay? I'm sure Wiggs will tell me if I'm taking carp or offer the finer details if I'm not!
