Lights up like a Christmas tree.
Like a fool I bought a newer Discovery three despite numerous problems with the older Discovery 3.
This one has all fault lights flashing and goes into limp mode indiscriminately and has been checked over 6 times by land rover assist and has been to two land rover dealers 6 times. The latest attempt by the dealers was that the fuel has been contaminated, but still causing problems.
It seems to me that it could be a gear box failure as it only happens when in gear or when the engine is under load as you can rev it forever and it doesn't go to fault.
Has anybody else experienced this and what was the outcome.
It is going to LR tomorrow again and if it fails my expensive relationship with LR is over and i'll spend my money more wisely in future.
Please help.

There's also a potential problem of water getting into various connectors, particularly behind the battery where the gearbox ECU is, (and also into the ECU itself.)
This can give rise to a whole multitude of errors and unwelcome lights.
This was a common theme on my previous (57 plate) D3, whereas my current (56 plater) has never missed a beat.Clive

I had this with a bad battery - although the battery tested fine - after 1.5 yrs of it from new i put on a new battery and it helped
i had at least 4 months before its started doing it again
but the battery for sure is a good cause
try charging your battery overnight for a couple of nights and see if it has any impact

The fuel theory could be correct, as a partly blocked fuel filter will cause this sort of thing when you try and accelerate hard. I would have thought a main dealer would have known this though, and should have changed it much earlier in the diagnosis.

Same here.
4 weeks ago got this after hammering it down to Santa Pod. All lights, loss of power. Turn off and back on and it was ok for a few miles.
Went to dealer, they said fuel filter. Changed it. I picked it up Friday and drove home and got the same problems back.
Back to dealer and they have had it 3 weeks. Said low pressure pump was 'breaking up' so changed that and put new filter on. Then got faults on high pressure pump. Changed that and damaged fuel pipe so changed that.
I phoned on Friday and they said all this and that they were now stuck - had no idea what to do so a RTM (regional technical manager) from LR is meant to be there today to look at at.
Hope the LR extended warranty still stands good. Doing ok so far and dealer has provided a courtesy car (FL2 GS SD4 auto).
But I want my G4 back, finding a non orange car without a roof rack full of plaques and lights in the ADSA car park is harder than I recalled

Iv'e had the same problems and the same diagnosis as the threads, the dealer saying the cause was numerous faults... HPFP, height sensors and ECU's, EGR valves after 5 breakdowns and almost 10 weeks in the dealers and a lot of communication between the local dealer and LR the fault seems rectified, i've done almost 2000 miles with no issues ( i hope i'm not tempting fate)
The part to rectify the fault was a replacement engine bay wiring harness, which i was informed takes a couple of hours to fit,If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works
