Normal Idling sound...?
Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum.
Please have a listen to this idling sound and let me know what you think...
I have parked next to a wall to have the sound reflected for clarity.
It doesn't sound too good until you rev her up a bit...
Any ideas what might be wrong..? No error messages, driving like a dream otherwise, getting on average 10l/km consuption.
Regards.
Derek Smit.

I think I may have been over reacting... I just need to get used to the sound the car makes
in tunnels or close proximity to walls etc. Seems to be idling ok in the open.
Cheers.

sounds ok to me - the whooshing is the fan, but it all sounds OK - always difficult to tell on a recordingDuncan

Thank you DiscoDunc,
I have had three other people saying that it sounded ok...
Then, today I decided to check the MAP sensor... boy was it dirty... Cleaned, inside the hole with thinly roled tissue paper and WD-40 and while I had the cover open serviced/cleaned/lubricated all electrical connectors.
Started the engine and viola!!! Engine noice gone and smooth idling!
