Backup copy of Nav DVD

Anyone ever successfully made and used a backup DVD copy of the SatNav DVD?

At £140 for a replacement I'd like to keep the original safe at home and use a copy in the drive in case it gets damaged. ____

Dual layer DVD +R DL. Copied on Mac OS using Disk Utility. Thumbs Up ____

I just dragged all the files on the disc into a folder on the PC just incase i needed to make a copy but have not been able to make a copy that works, i have the original in the car so do i just make a image copy straight onto a DL DVD with something like Roxio

You need an image copier (bit copier). Dual Layer media is essential, I used Verbatim DVD DL +R. The image was created using Disk Utility on my Mac.

Roxio should do it OK too.

Windows OS tools presumably also exist...? ____
