FS: Jap Import D1 V8i Auto
Now I have found my new motor, the D1 I have been running around in is up for grabs.
It is a real cracker with only 64k on the clock and no rust in the usual places as it is a re-import from Japan.
The Discovery was originally registered in Japan (UK spec RHD) and then imported back to the UK and registered here with the DVLA, I have the export documentationd and also DVLA docs confirming UK registration.
The huge benefit of this is that the car is not rusting away underneath like most UK cars do as the Japanese don’t apply salt to their roads and tend to drive quite slowly and do low mileages. As it is RHD UK spec there are no issues with insurance etc and the speedo has been re-calibrated to read in MPH too.
Exterior
-The bodywork is in very good condition with virtually no evidence of corrosion, it’s finished in blue metallic.
-There is no rust on the rear door shuts, inner wings, sills or boot floor which is rare to find!
-Chassis is exceptional
-The paint on the bonnet is a little faded and could do with a good cut and polish if you want it to be spot on
-Tyres are ok but will need changing before the winter really
Interior
-The grey cloth trim is in very good condition
-Never smoked in and no smells of pets etc
-No sunroofs so no leaks
-Air Conditioning fully working and nice and cold
-Carpets are all good
-Electric windows and central locking
-Original LR stereo
Mechanical
-This Discovery has no documented service history, however the previous owner was an enthusiast and did all his own servicing and it runs very well indeed and has clearly been extremely well maintained throughout its life. It has had new plugs, leads and coil recently.
-The V8i engine is amazing, smooth powerful and with no smoke or rattles, the best sounding one I've heard
-Auto box, Low range and diff-lock fully operational
-Brakes, suspension etc all regularly overhauled and in good working order
