There's a space for it behind a plastic cover in the left side of the rear load bay.

It's where the rear aircon is (if fitted.)

You can get a custom made (LR) holder for it that fits in there, or just wrap it up with something soft so it doesn't rattle about and damage the rear quarter panel.

Thanks, I thought thats where it went, but didnt see any brackets etc. for it so thought it was the wrong place.

Feedback much appreciated, will get onto Landrover and find out how much the bracket is.

I keep mine in the garage, along with my towbar-mounted bike carrier and trailer...

ISTR that it quite expensive for a piece of polystyrene and a pig to fit if you have rear air con.

Just looked up earlier posts and found it : -
Towbar stowage - part number LR020002
About £30 retail - a couple of months ago.

A bit of a PITA to fit but do-able in an hour or so with basic tools.

If anyone in the Uk has a spare one, would be delighted to give it a home, until then bubble wrap is doing the job nicely....

I bought the new carrier from TLO this year, not too bad a job to do, even easier if you take the short cut.

Prior to that i popped mine in my little boys lunch box, a nice padded carrier, just the right size for holding it and for stowage in the right place.

much prefer the correct carrier though.

crwoody took me about 30 mins to remove from my D3 and put in the D4, easy job other than the bolts being hard to move. There is one on the bay for auction at present.

In fairness, I probably spent a lot more time deliberating over how much of the side panel trim to remove than the actual fitting of the "device". Smile
The rear aircon unit does get in the way quite a bit though.
