you do like to drive your D3 a lot between problems and put up with them don't you ?
10,000 miles can't have been that bad then.
Who are they again ?? they must be the worst dealer on the planet then

Not a criticism...makes sense, as you say.

Well the saga continues, car is booked in again for them to re adjust the alignment as it now pulls to the left slightly and the steering wheel is off centre
It used to run straight as an arrow, but had all 4 tyres running out on various edges.
Is there anything else I should be asking / requesting of the dealer? Zermatt silver 06 reg.

There's a TSB giving details of a relatively new 'geometry setting mode' for the air suspension, this can only be invoked with WDS / IDS and is supposed to improve the accuracy of the settings

Cheers TFC, I did email this to the dealer a week or so before my car went in the last time and she was going to pass it on to the workshop.
Not sure if they used it or not but something is wrong somewhere Zermatt silver 06 reg.

Whilst we're on tyres, I got 40,000km out of the first set of Wranglers.
I've now done 60,000km and the second set is down to 2mm tread left
Aside from the LHR tyre have more wear down the inside edge they've all worn evenly.
Maybe they changed the compound on me. At this rate and at AUD$460 per tyre, I'll be looking for alternatives. Have a nice day!

Guys, need a bit of help here with this one.
I've had uneven wear on my front tyres mainly, and my dealer was aware of this, and said they'd sort it out the next time I was in. I've just got a new set of wheels/tyres to replace the old ones at 30K miles, as the old tyres were gone almost bald on the inside, and still had 3 - 4 mm on the outside.
Anyway, when I was in dropping the D3 off this morning, I checked that they were going to do the TSB, when they informed me that I'd have to pay for the alignment/tracking! They said that Land Rover (Ireland) won't pay them for the work if the vehicle has more than 10,000 KM on it! God knows what they'd say if I was wanting to make a claim for compensation for the tyres!
So anyway, was just wanting to confirm that there's no mileage limit for this TSB, and has anyone else had to pay?
They didn't want much, but because of the principle, etc, I told them not to bother and that I'd get it done at a UK LR dealer for free (which I'm assuming I can?)!
I know they're trying their best, and I don't have a problem with the dealer - as I didn't buy my D3 from them, I can't expect them to do work they won't get paid for by LR. In fairness, they did say that they'd contact LR again and request that they pay for them to do the work, so it may be a case of when I go to collect it that they will have done the TSB, but I'm not expecting it.
Anyway, anyone any input here, mainly wondering if I turn up at a UK dealer will I have any trouble getting it sorted under warranty?
Thanks,

my dealer has pushed back on the uneven tyre wear claim based on the fact that i have had all of the updates, a new compressor with a revised valve which stabilises the leakage and improves the consistency of loading and the geometry re alignment which acknowledges there was an issue with the original spec. i suspect LR are being caned for tyre claims and are stopping any more for those over 10,000kms to prevent huge costs. Do we pursue this as the warranty work was carried out and the uneven tyre wear was a direct result of issues occuring prior to the upgrades? TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue and still smiling

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for compensation towards new tyres (but I wouldn't say no if I was offered something!), I'm just wanting them to fix the geometry so that it won't happen the new ones I've just put on again. I thought the dealers were getting confused with tyre claims not being possible over 10K km, but they seemed convinced they wouldn't get paid for their labour for doing the tracking, etc. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

When i had the RRS they took it back for the tracking to be done, brand new dealership and no machine they took it to ATS. Front tyres ilegal on inside at 5400 miles and they still argued (and lost) two new tyres.

The response I got was "pay for an alignment" and "buy new tyres".. There is a solution for US folks though, seeing as the obvious tap tap is not working... 20k easy miles, no abuse, the tyre should go 40/30 at worst, needs replacing now metal showing.

Hi Folks,
Have just joined the forum. We have been advised by Land Rover Australia that they don't want to know about our tyre wear issue as we have done more than 25000km and they suggest that we contact the dealer. Customer care? even suggested that it may be the dealers problem for not checking the tyres while the car was in for other warranty work. I am now waiting for our motoring organisation (NRMA) to get back to me. Will keep you informed of our progress or lack of.
Thanks,
Dale
