Good afternoon new to site |
|
Afternoon
New to site, will be about a while. Always had shoguns and my friend has always had discovery’s and there has always been a bit of banter between us 😂
Couple of weeks ago the shoguns fuel pump went, and with what it would cost to replace it. Plus the fact that with modifying it it had actually become a bit useless for work (big and noisy) I bit the bullet and bought a discovery 3. It is probably the lowest spec oldest one on here and it’s got issues. But what can I say I like it and for it’s purpose it’ll make a good car….. hopefully.
100 percent I’ll end up doing silly things to it, iv already been looking at discovery 4 front end conversions and interiors etc 😂
That’s how I get my passion for cars past misses, I need it for work so it needs to look nice it needs to stand out abit etc etc
Any way that’s it hope your all well.

Hi there, I'm Martin from good old Germany.
Being over 60 I thought live is too short for wasting time with Japanese stuff,
so after a holidaytrip to UK it was time for a Land Rover.
After some researches I came to an on 2008 LR Disco 3.
Now of course I'll need some help from you guys.
Many thanks to all and specially for the owner of this website!

Hi, new to Discovery! But this is my first LandRover that I’ve actually owned. Usually drive defenders.
Bought a D3 HSE 07 plate.
It was cheap & has problems but it’s mine & im chuffed to bits!
New brakes needed before MOT in December & compressor is throwing faults. Body & paintwork is tatty but like I said it was cheap & all I could afford. Yes I did give myself extra to fix faults but that was spent….. fixing faults! Cam belt etc!
Can’t wait to get her on the rough stuff so I can take my son camping etc. covers some miles & im loving it!!
Hoping to get out & meet like minded people at some events but work & family stop most of that! Haha
Anyway! Thank you for your advice. I’ve been reading other posts.
Hope to see some of you soon!

Hi All,
Just purchased a 2008 D3 SE off my boss, I managed to rescue it before the scrap man took it.
It has a gearbox and air suspension fault so will replace in due course. i can live with the gearbox for the time being as I've been using the manual changing the gears however the air compressor will get done fairly soon.
Cheers

Morning All,
I'm looking into purchasing a 2016 D4, either an HSE or Landmark. Is there a thread that summarised the different specification levels?
I'm not new to the green oval, currently have a D2 that's on 200,000 miles and is now a play thing with a 2" lift, mud tyres, steel bumpers and a winch. Before that I had a V8 Disco 1 and before that a Series 3 that started life as 2.25 petrol but that got changed to a V8 as well. Perhaps I should get another V8

Welcome to all the new members and new owners of the Green Oval and those thinking of buying one (you won't find another vehicle that gives so many smiles and empties your wallet at the same time )

Hi all,
Just a quick introductory message to say hello, and wish you all happy motoring.
I've just purchased my first ever Land Rover, a 2009 Discovery 3, primarily as a tow car to transport my rally car to events and shows. My first impressions are very positive, and it has been very reliable during the 34 miles I've covered so far! I'm hoping for many more miles of luxurious, relaxing motoring, but I'm also a realist so am prepared for a few hiccups along the way. Hopefully, this forum may help me to overcome any problems. Or at least sympathise with me.
Take care, best wishes and happy motoring!
Gary

Greetings all.
Recently purchased a black 2010 Discovery 4.
It gives a puff of smoke when given some right foot but it goes like snot off a clog. I understand this is a simple fix cured by modifying a turbo pipe.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it
