Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/60/18 etc |
|
I have managed to pick up 5 x 18 inch D3 rims on Ebay complete with new General Grabber UHP tyres. I'm now looking to put all terrain tyres on them for the winter season (sand/rocks and tarmac use), (Andy thanks for the steer on the UHP's). However choices here in Dubai are limited to say the least!!!!! I would like to increase the tyre width if possible and I have only been able to find Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/60/18, which supposedly fit on the LR3 without rubbing? Has anyone had any desert experience with these tyres? Also if anyone in UAE has found any alternatives I would be interested to know. I have trawled some of the U.S sites but most comments seem to be based aroung a di*k swinging competition 'My truck is better than your truck'!!
There was a very informative post on one of the South African websites (linked from Disco3) that listed all AT/MT tyre types/sizes that would fit but I can't find it again!
Any advice appreciated.

The Cooper Zeon LTZ's are also an AT tyres available in 285/60/18.
I run 20's, but Rich has just fitted a set of 18's.
He's posted some images here [complete with clearance shots]

A quick question. Will the spare wheel still fit up in the bay with these tyres on ?
Thanks

Drop the spare tire psi to 18 or so and remove the rubber bumpstops to allow the tire to fit up into the well area better. 2006 D3 Tonga Green
