well i was going to put the 1050kg ones on with 295/45/20 but was more concerned about something on the steering that the 2009 model has or am i talking rubbish ?

What is the load rating on the tyre, three digit number prob followed by V? ISTR RRSs are lower (108V?), D3s need 111V or higher. That's often the problem with fitting RRS wheels & tyres onto a D3.

Don't see any problem at all on a my 09.
Though many on here experienced vibrations with theirs on previous models.
Key point is to get them balanced by a true expert.
Also it would depend on how wide a tyre you want to run and also the offset of the particular model of Stormer [assuming they're copies]
Been running Stormers on mine with 295/45's for a good few years with absolutely no problems.
Currently on 285/50 LTZ's.
But 295's may be a bit too wide for newer models due to a chassis extension in the front wheel well.
A good dealer will fit and ensure all is correct before taking your dosh.

Brill thanks vm guys yep im going to ajs to get them done when he gets them in so no worries about load rating and balancing properly

I would look at the General Grabber UHP's.
A fantastic sticky road tyre with great wear rate.
Nice and smooth ride for 20's & good looking to boot.
Ask Andy what he reckons?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

What increase in tyre diameter are you allowed to fit for driving on UK public roads ?
I assume there is a maximum allowed.

Are we talking D4, or just a 2009 D3?
The D4 will have a 20" wheel option, running 255/50x20's (rated at 109 we think)
A 2009 D3 will take Stomers, but I havnt tried as mine is an 06 model, and there is a "chassis" bit (travel stop at the rear of the wheelbay) mentioned earler. I dont know what the clearence is like on the later model.

Hi all, sorry to hyjack this thread but as it's of a similar nature I didn't think starting a new thread was necessary.
I've just bought a D3 with Genuine LR (RRS) 20" V style alloys, and the rubber, even though not at the legal limit, is due in a month or 2.
Currently it's on 275/45/R20 Continentals , but whenever I use tyre profile comparison software, they tell me the 275/45's are not the correct diameter when comparing to the standard 18" tyres.
should I be looking to replace them with 275/50's or 285/45's?
Also I've noticed the 106 weight rating it slightly low?57 RRS TDV8
