D3 engine power fluctuates problem

Hi,

I had bad oil leak on my 2008 D3 TDV6, from under oil pump, the contact area was uneven on the engine block.
This was repaired and new oil pump was installed.
There's no oil leak anymore.

But since then, there's a problem with the engine power.
It seems that turbo initiates at ca 2100 rpm which is too late.
And also when the engine is under load (uphill, etc) the power fluctuates in ca 1 sec intervals.
The problem is less obvious when engine is cold (late start at 2100 remains but fluctuation of power does not seem to appear) and it gets worse when engine is warm.

As a first attempt, EGRs were blocked and removed in software.
It did not help.

What else should be checked?
Easy and cheap try I was recommended is the hydrogen decarbonization, that it might help but might not, and it will not harm (is that really the case?)

I'm pretty desperate - after ca EUR 2500 for oil leak repairs, car is not usable Sad

Don't know.
Physically blocked and no errors from the car after SW change.

Decarbonization (or whatever is the english term) using hydrogen resolved the issue.

I had a similar issue with my D3 which turned out to be a duff mass air flow sensor. Wasn’t bad enough to log an engine management fault, but was really horrible to drive.

Steve Norman ( who has looked after my car ever since ) suggested unplugging the sensor, which makes engine management fall back to a default map instead. It actually drove better like that, when it should have been worse. If you try that, disconnecting the MAF sensor will put on an engine management light so you’ll need a fault code reader to reset it if it turns out that’s not your issue.

Yes, thanks, I found MAF reference here, it was next on my try list.

It's likely resolved.
Turbo lag disappeared.
The engine power fluctuation appears to be resolved but not 100% sure yet.
Roads are snowy and not cleaned up properly in our somewhat remote area, so I could not put the car under longer sustained high load. But those short bits I could try, it appears gone.

Next is EPB, which is stuck at not applied. All parts home, only work to be done.
As my D3 is manual, it is less pressing, first gear serves as parking brake 😀

Wonder what comes next, before it was ok but last two years D3 was expensive with 3 different oil leaks 😐
