Switch thermotop v for vevo?
Is it possible to buy random vevo and move circuitboard from my
old V and get it working. I found a vevo for just 230£ only a few year and very low miles
at a car breaker.

Considering the OPs location, he probably knows more about these things than us on our warm(ish) little Island.

i use to sell parkingheaters, mainly webasto.
although i did end that business 10 years ago, i still have some knowledge
The diesel FBH from webasto used to have hardware differences within a certain model.
i do know that the Thermo Top V had versions WITH & WITHOUT fuel preheating
so even within that model range you have differences, let alone the newer models..
the software "sees" components, and if wrong/changed/different specs/ not available, etc.. it will simply not work
if you buy a random unit.. the chance is very big that the hardware is different.. 230 GBP is not that cheap for a used one... to make mistakes.. or throw it in the bin...
other question, why? they make not much difference in performance and do not really wear...
the only bad thing you can do to them is make very short use of them... (going to the shop 1 or 2 mile further down the road below 7 degrees celsius and they pollute and become clogged)
they have to burn for minimum of 10 minutes and then last for years...
short rides? make a switch between the temperature sensor of the FBH (not sure on disco's if the webasto's have their own, normally they do... i have my disco D3 only since 4 days did not look to it yet) en switch it offBest regards

£230 is actually quite a lot(here in the UK) for a used FBH.
Perhaps somebody here can help this chap and send him a known good one for a lot less.
I sold my spare recently with all my old D3 stuff, if I remeber correctly it went for @£100

Buy a new burner instead. I got hands on a complete V EVO, and tried to convert mine. Didn't get it to burn properly. It started up, but stopped after few minutes. Don't remember the fault it trew out. But I gave up. Bought a new burner from AF instead.

I have changed my thermo top 5 to an vevo in my discovery 3 a few years ago..
All you need is to change circuit board and the plugs..
Mine has been running for a few winters..
The vevo is more quiet also than the thermo top 5
I have a brand new vevo on my shelf, it's made for a range rover evoque, so you also need to change board on that..
I want 300€ plus shipping, if you want a new instead of a used

Sorry to interrupt..., it can work..... but “a” thermotop v or evo or vevo... they are NOT default the same!
Even not on hardware....
I can not say it enough... when I had a shop in parking heaters, I had hundreds, really hundreds op people who bought random stuff everywere for a lot of money, and then become confronted with the fact that it or parts were/ was NOT interchangeable...
So again, I CAN work.... but also can NOT work.. just beware...Best regards

I have heard the same if you take a random one..
but I know the vevo that comes from the range rover evoque, works if you change the board and plugs
Also need to change the in/out for water, as they are smaller hoses on the evoque..
Did it on my discovery 3..

I am very interested in a quick guide to how you did this.
I am so tired of buying new burners, glow plugs or to the FBH.
I was hoping the Thermo top Vevo could be better for the job.
I see that the pinout on the X1 connector (8wire pin) is a bit different.
Did you just wire them to the matching number to get everything working as on the TT-V?
When you say plugs. Do you mean the water in/Outlets?
It seems like it is the same FBH but with small differences on the pinout.
What board did you change?
