Steering Rack replacement - tie rods/ends
Have recently replaced steering rack with recon rack from Lion Automotive - all good I thought until went for 4 wheel alignment - they say they cannot adjust the os front wheel any more - comes to a stop and is still toeing out...
I'm losing the plot a bit trying to investigate if the tie rods/ends are different on the ns to the os and they could be put on the wrong way around or with the wrong version or something
My D3 is mid 2007 (VIN 8A... I think) - is there a possibility a component could be out of position or the wrong version? Recon rack came with tie rods in place (don't know what version reference) but local garage could have removed during the the installation process I suppose - are they foolprooof/different thread size on ns to os?
Or I could have unwittingly supplied the wrong rod ends (Lemforder LR010671 Original Lemforder Outer Track Rod End to VIN 9A496359)
Any pointers or reassurance would be appreciated before I go back to mechanic and he (probably rightly -blames the parts I supplied...

.... checking the actual recon rack it is definitely for 2004-09 so looks like I have the right parts at least...in theory
Any ideas what might be going on? Why cant os front be adjusted any further - still toeing out?
Thanks

Hi,
don't know if this helps but sure when I changed my rack end (D3) the n/s and o/s were different lengths
and have just taken this from AF's website showing the rack parts.
