Transmission Shudder During Upshift in Discovery 3 w/ 2.7L D |
|
Hello, sometimes the automatic transmission of my Discovery 3 with a 2.7L diesel engine shudders when shifting up. From my assessment, the problem seems to come from the transmission. Has anyone had similar experiences and knows what the cause might be? Thanks in advance. Kind regards.

This has been covered many times, usually comes from a failing torque converter and or worn stator bushings in the trans.
What is your mileage ?

Thank you very much for your prompt response and the valuable information. It's reassuring to know that this issue has been discussed before. My Discovery 3 has about 300,000 kilometers on the odometer, and it seems like wear and tear might play a role here.
Could you perhaps provide me with more details regarding the problems associated with the torque converter and the stator bushings? Are there specific symptoms I should be looking out for to better identify these issues? And could you possibly recommend a course of action or specific repair suggestions to address these problems?
Additionally, I would like to know if there are certain maintenance tasks that I should consider to prevent future transmission problems.
Thank you once again for your assistance. I greatly appreciate your expertise and the time you have taken to respond to me.
Warm regards

Thank you, that's really a lot. But as it's well known, the night is not only for sleeping
