Disco 3 dead after battery change |
|
Hi All
I'm new here in this world where joy and pain seem to meet.
I changed the battery of my 2008 D3 since the old one was 7 years old and started to give me issues. The new battery was fine for about a week, and then it was just flat (clicking noises only)
I disconnected the new battery and charged it to start looking for a parasitic draw but now that I reconnected the fully charged battery the car is completely dead.
The keys won't open the doors. I can't even detect a <50mA draw to power the clock.
I'm locked out and the car is dead.
Where do I start?

Check the earth strap at the inner wing from the battery terminal.
Measure voltages between the main cable into the fuse box and metal work etc

It was the earth cable. I loosened the clamp, checked the body mount, and refit it. Viola!
I don't understand how it makes contact one day and not the next.
Thanks!
