Have you got the oil filter installed correctly? By this I mean is the little protrusion on the bottom of the filter element located in the housing drain line correctly? If not oil will just flow back to the sump from the filter housing giving you low pressure.Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)

Well aware of how the oil filter should be installed, i can assure it is placed correctly. Also when I replaced the oil cooler, lifting out the oil filter I saw the oil draining away through that opening so confident it sits correctly.

No worries, was just pondering on what could give you no oil pressure.Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)

Wondering if I assembled the cylinder heads correctly? I put the locking pin in the starter flex plate thus positioning the crankshaft correctly for engine assembly? I saw Steve from Pistonbroke Garage do the same on his RRS engine rebuild. When you watch the LRTime videos Christian places a self made locking bolt in the engine to lock the crankshaft. But since I did not have such a bolt I used the standard locking tool.
When installing the camshafts I installed the chains in the correct position, then after tightening the cap bolts turned the cam wheel slightly and put in the timing pins. Then continued with the rest of the engine assembly.

The locking pin was used because the flexplate had to be bolted to the crank, and the holes allow for enough play before tightened that it could be fastened in the wrong position leading to retarded or advanced valve timing. In his video he shows the amount of play the flexplate has before fully tightened. In the video he also shares the dimensions of the lock pin if you would like to make one.
