Unlock flashes D3

Normally when I unlock the D3 I get one long flash on the indicators. Today I got 5 (or 7 but I think it was five) rapid flashes. I pushed unlock again and got the same thing. Lock gave the three flashes and the next unlock gave the normal single flash.

I can find no reference to this behaviour in the manual or anywhere within my google-fu. Anyone have any ideas?

Keyfob battery may be low, or have a dodgy battery connection.

One of mine exhibited this behaviour after it was dropped. I opened the fob, resoldered the battery and it worked.

Lock the car and check all doors have locked, particularly the rear offside Thumbs Up
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Ahh. I do know the rear drivers side lock mech is on its way out.

I'll check both suggestions in the morning and see if I can reproduce it.

Multiple flashes means that the alarm has been activated, i.e. the truck thinks someone has tried to break in. It is usually a faulty door or (more usually) bonnet switch. Mine used to do it about every 10th entry. I disconnected the bonnet switch and shorted it out, hasn’t been a repeat in 6 months.

I did think about the alarm, but my experience has been when it goes off it makes a hell of a racket with beeping horns and flashing lights. This hadn't.

Having said that, I'm not sure I've actually tested it since I removed the satellite siren module. I might have a crack at it tomorrow and see if it speaks up when it thinks it's being broken into.

I should have put UK near side not off side rear, which is I believe is your rear drivers side which is a common fault. The system thinks because it has not locked it has been tampered with and try’s to warns you.
I can’t emphasise enough what a pig of a job it is to gain access to the actuator when (not if) the door locks and you cannot open it, get it fixed asap or you will need a new interior door card as the only way to gain access is by destroying the door card.
