Suspension fault, low front, codes read + soapy water :-( |
|
Hi,
My beloved D3 2009 has developed a new bong.
Suspension fault on, normal height only (or something like) and the front is visibly lower.
Now I have already taken out the front arch and tested the valve block with soapy water and its looking ok, as are air struts (maybe I could test a bit more), so I cant find an actual leak yet. Also based on the codes (iCarsoft v3) being a bit random I did a brake switch change as it was still original and its cheap enough to do JIC, Bulbs also looked good. A few years a go I had a slow fill warning and it was the compressor top so that's been replaced with a nice ally one too.
One thing to confess to, the car get little use and the battery has been on the way out. Some rearlier research does point bad battery/CAN bus re some of the more random codes First thing I did was fully charge it and previously its "warned" me with the Special Modes not available message. Obvs a battery isn't cheap to put on "just to see" so anything else I can try/test before I do that.
Codes below.
Car isn't used a lot at the moment, dry stored in a shed, only 75k miles and has been well maintained. It did have some front suspension work just a couple of months back for MOT, bushes/drop links but has been driven a bit since then.

UPDATE:
Took the lunchbox of the compressor and its blowing from the rear (snigger). My guess wold be the piston seal is gone. I think that when I did the cap I didn't do the piston and I may have even found the bits that were in the kit. Thinking was "if it aint broke" but with the benefit of hindsight maybe I should have.
Ill take the compressor off at the weekend and investigate. I seem to recall one of the bolts is a PITA to refit. Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2
