Changing Fan Belt in the bush

One for the experts Exclamation If you have a broken fan belt, there must be a sensor on the belt tensioner will it go into limp to the steeler mode and after replaceing the belt will all be OK. Whistle Or will the computor need resetting at the steeler. Also what happens in the same situation if a radiator hose needs replacing Question
When I go bush I take spair hoses and fan belt etc. but is this of use if the computor disables the engine and it cannot be reset by me Shocked
Please let the answer be all will be OK Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down

Rob

PS. Remember this is OZ and mostly out of range of the 1800 number and nowere where if contact could be made could a tilt tray truck be sent to recover the D3. Rolling Eyes

The cooling fan will report 0% duty as a transient fault, replacing the aux. drive belt and starting the engine but not moving off until the fan has acheived 100% duty (the early morning roar Wink ) will clear the DTC
Be careful to bleed the coolant system correctly in the event of hose failure but TBH the hoses are well protected and not really old enough to perish like a D1 or D2, as above, transient DTC's will clear upon restart provided they are not logged for three engine start cycles

Thanks 10forcash,
This puts my mind at ease Smile Although I have a habbit when bush of regular checks of belts, hoses, oil etc. as well as under the car you can not alwayse pre empt a failure.
Also I assume if something looks dodgey and I replace it things will be Ok if I disconect the battery. ie no faults loged.

Thumbs Up

Rob

Do you get any sort of "user type" message displayed when the above faults happen , i.e. something other than high water temp indication etc .
