I find just the fact this job is advertised quite depressing.

People seem to want to fill themselves with hate and then measure everything against that. Humanity is not perfect and hiding historical imperfections doesn't make them go away or 'unhappen'. I'd quite like my culture left alone, please.

Hardly the most appealing job to me that, not the fact it's a museum job but what you're doing. Still, maybe someone will want that. What did it pay?
I'm not averse to some change of messages in how society puts it's past across though. I watched a really superb (black, female) teacher on TV the other day. She eloquently explained that when you are looking to provide kids with positive influences and role models from the past and present it is pretty difficult when all the black history personalities are few and far between and not mainstreamed in lessons. A few more black role models from the past would help achieve much in young black pupils was her point (I am probably making a complete hash of..).
She came across very well.

Seems quite reasonable. Signage for displays will be " of the time " and perhaps needs addressing.
And the display of stuffed pygmies is quite weird .
