Strange fault code…..

Hello, long time D3 G4 owner. Doesn’t do much now, only 600 miles last year (and 2 breakdowns). Everything runs fine and occasionally I get - engine system fault, limp mode and the code is U3F02. Which apparently doesn’t exist. Cycling the ignition makes the problem go away. I can clear the fault using OBD2 reader but then…. Randomly it reappears. Very frustrating. Any help gratefully received!!

Cheers
Dave

A quick Google on the web shows "U3F02" equals injector problems but that's on a Ford F350 Laughing could be something similar?

I think that's an obscure Ford code, what diagnostics are you using?

Generic OBD scanners don't get to the heart of the matter with LR's and you are best served with dedicated LR diagnostics. (GAP et al)

As regards the fault and in the absence of diagnostic codes I can only suggest you check the wiring harness under the engine cover. ie Injectors and sensors for integrity. Thumbs Up

Thanks! I’d found that on google but doesn’t make sense if the engine is PSA and engine/body ecu’s are land rover (although i think ford did own LR for a few minutes back then..). I’m using a very old BAS code reader. I think a more professional approach might be necessary !!

Essentially its a Ford developed product with as you say joint PSA/Ford engine. The diagnostics (codes etc) are all Ford based which is why you are seeing an obscure Ford dtc!

Get a GAP diagnostics or similar tool on it and it should point the direction. Thumbs Up

"U" codes are basically information only and your fault of limp mode should give a more definitive code. As has been said, the codes need reading.
