Hi all, I know there is a raft of information on here with regards to EPB and I have an intention (once I get the car back) to start working through the different options, but I’d like to gather some thoughts, the EPB has been fine, no issues just stopped working one day, emergence cable pulled and car moved fine, used iid tool to check live reading and said no voltage going to unit, put car to garage to find the break in the wire and it has been found and repaired, they tried to reset the EPB but say it’s goosed and that there is an internal fault in the EPB, and that a new one is needed (upwards of £800) so could a break in the feed wire cause an issue inside the EPB module, prior to garage visit the emergency handbrake when pulled up didn’t work now I have it back I’ve tested and it works now. So that’s something good. No noise or screeching has been heard from the box also iid tool is only showing the one fault as in photo,
C1A53-68 (EB) Electronic parking brake
latching failure, emergency release has
been activated - Algorithm based failure
- event information
Also tried the re-latch method of press brake pedal 3 time pull up lever 4 times then down 3 times

Give me a wave if you're heading past Foggie I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Nigethecat, I would give you a wave if the disco would manage to travel the 20 odd miles without breaking down.🙄
If you have a iid tool could plug it in and tell me what you get for the below readings, the emergency brake that wasn’t working, that went to the garage and then started working is now not working again(if you follow that) I plugged in the iid and it reads
Main engine control module voltage supply = NA
Motor current =0.500amp
Control module internal temperature NA
Electric parking brake - switch input status = Neutral (when in neutral) and changes when switch is pulled
Photo added, only fault code I have is the relatch one now, I feel despite the £400 spent on the garage electrical fault finding I still have an electrical fault.
I think I should be seeing at least a voltage recorded at the main engine control module voltage supply

Unfortunately I sold my IID when I sold the D4 but it is on my list to buy again… there are other members in the area with these though… maybe a shout out to see if anyone can assist… just as an aside who have you been taking the car to? I take my cars down to DM in Dundee, a fair trip but very much worth it to get things sorted first time every time I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Have you followed this guide by DM?

Might find what you need after going through that? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Car normally goes to Cameron motors in Cumminstown (Cameron autotech) they’ve fixed my electrical issues in the past, my next stop I think is going to have to be disco mikes in Dundee, however it’s not going to be a great trip down as the suspension keeps failing and dropping down to the bump stops (intermittently) again think this is an wiring issue but don’t know if it’s linked to the EPB issue.

Hi thought it worth just adding here a link incase anyone comes across this issue
Much thanks to JAS landrover for posting a great video on you tube and saved me about a grand. (Which the garage wanted to charge for a new module) I’ve already paid £350 for them to fix the wiring…….
This issue for me was that the supply voltage wire was heavily corroded, when checking voltage at the terminal it read 12v but when trying to do a load test, nothing, I traced the wire back along the car and found inside the compressor cover on the rear left hand side there was a green/yellow wire with a connection which had badly corroded and when pulled on it it disintegrated, repaired wire all is now good,
Unfortunately for me I had removed the casing from the EPB module rewound the threaded bar, removed rear shoes and manually relatched before I found this clip, worked through this clip and hey presto everything is now good.
Hopefully someone else can get use of this link.
