Suspension drop overnight

Good morning,

I had drop in the front about 15-20mm overnight, I did remove front air suspension block changed o rings then overnight it did drop to bump stops in the front only back stays perfect. So I bought original valve block LR install it, also done service on my compressor (AMK new type 2013 fitted) changed dryer filters and granules + o rings, started up compressor run for about 5min selected suspension up down few times,
disconnected battery and left it overnight at normal high and;
after 2.5h no drop
after 7h 5mm drop
after 17h 15mm drop
Is it normal? I had no warnings on dashboard compressor seems to run fine,

Any advice appreciated,

Mine does something similar. If I don't drive for a couple of days vehicle drops to bump stops. I often catch it in the act of self levelling, e.g. walk out to the garage I I hear it release a quick burst of air. If I leave the drivers door open, only the front drops overnight by 15-20mm. I have the o ring set for back middle and front valve blocks, but haven't had time to do it yet.

I however suspect I have a small leak in one of the front air struts.

Yes, I think I have the same problem but I believe is possible both air struts leaking Confused
I will check if there is external leak on mid valve block,

You’ll have to raise the car, pull fuse 26 from the engine compartment, and take measurements of each wheel.

I’ve found that air temperature changes will make the car move as much as 1/4” (5mm) overnight. The front and rear struts have different volumes of air so they move different amounts as the density of the air changes with temperature. If one strut moves out of range enough for the computer to level, it will lower the car even if no appreciable amount of air is lost. However, this phenomena will only result in the vehicle lowering about 5mm or so over 24 hours, and it is uncommon as it requires a meaningful change in temperature. I’ve only deduced it by obsessively taking measurements of my EAS over many weeks and tracking temperature as well. If you are seeing the car move more than 5mm in 24 hours, you have an air leak.

My car leaks about 3/8” in the first 24 hours, then the struts “seal up” and movement is limited to 1/16” or less per 24hours indefinitely. This is very common with older struts.

Thanks, I have about 1" over 24h drop, today did check pipes and connections and I can't see any leak,
is hard to see small leak with soapy water, my struts are still original 15 years old plus it done 200k miles
I believe they need changing anyway,

You have a leak in the front system somewhere.

Spray with soapy water.

Leaks in the valve block & on the top of the bags are hard to spot.

Especially the valves as they can leak back & not bubble. O ring kits are cheap.

New valve block original Land Rover been installed 2 days ago, so I think it won't be the block,
The only think it will be struts Crying or Very sad is there any way to test them?
Im doing another test, selected normal hight 2 hours ago just been to garage and there is no drop at all,

Now is 5h gone no leak at all, this time I didn't disconnect battery but pulled fuse nr 26,

Maybe one of you ride height sensors is out of calibration. Pulling the fuse stops it self levelling? Mine does similar, so I'm watching your forum with keen interest.

Smile Well, just checked it now, after 7h drop by 1mm, but first 5h no drop Rolling Eyes
at this moment ride sensors are off, yes the fuse 26 stops it self levelling,

From 23.30 to 9.30 drop 11mm
In 18h My front suspernion drops 14mm
In first 7h no drop at all.
No bubles on test externally,
New front Air valve,

I've watched a couple of videos on line on how to change the front air struts. Looks like something I can handle at home.

Dersealtd - I suspect you've got a slow leak in your front struts. Mine are 15 years old, I'd rather change them now while they are slowly leaking rather than waiting for them to fail completely stranding me somewhere.

I'm looking at the Dunlop branded ones. Does anyone have any comments or experience these? They seem a reasonable price, or is it better to pay a bit more for genuine ones?
