Turbo boost gauge
Apologises as always for the daft questions
It’s just I’ve never seen a turbo boost gauge fitted onto the TDV6 , as I thought then if the actuator arm started to stick it would therefore show the boost pressure reduction giving an early indication of the vanes not opening fully
Or isn’t it that simple due to the fact it’s not a vacuum actuator type where I guess u would simply cut an adaptor in-line of the boost hose, but as it’s electronic not as easy or simply not possible
Once again sorry for the daft question , was just curious that was all and just like to learn more , massive thanks , more importantly hope everyone is keeping safe and well

I think you’re on the wrong forum for boost gauges, I would suggest moving to the Subaru Owners Club
But on a serious note I can't see why not, there may even already be a boost sensor you could measure a signal from.

It would be quite easy to fit one by tappimg into the throttle body but as its a variable vane turbo the values could be quite low at times and i dont know what use the information would be.
For diagnostic purposes you could just look at the MAP sensor valuesAndrew

I think you should give it ago Gary.
As diesels don’t have throttles, vacuum isn’t registered on the gauge.
But we need answers. And you are the man to experiment.
The fact it’s VVT doesn’t come into in Gary.
Connect it to the inlet manifold somewhere.
Jaguars must have a connection point somewhere for the extra valves.
Or drill a hole in the EGR blank ?

Tbh bit pointless really for everyday use, ok for diagnostics, got one in my 90 and er I have not looked at the gauge for an eon!
Often wondered what the boost difference and EGT difference is between std and chipped cars, now that would be interesting.

The car going into limp mode is the indicator of the turbo actuator sticking

Seen a few chipped 90 and blimey they shift , alas don’t know how much extra boost is added when re mapped

Pretty sure mine was stuck again , think it was around 4 x years since I last freed it off, will be interesting to see what results I get after I sort out all the air and intercooler leaks
