| Fault code p0490 EGR question |

Hello all, my D3 showed the engine warning light, code reader says it's P0490 which I understand to be an EGR valve. The garage have confirmed the right valve needs replacing and quoted me 700 so it's booked in for Friday. The warning light has gone out of its own accord for some reason today, any idea why this would happen?
So question has two parts; Is 700 a bit steep for one valve replacement (not a main dealer)? And why could the warning light mysteriously go off?

I'm in your area and was quoted 720 to have both replaced this time last year.
I would assume they were using OEM rather than genuine land rover. So genuine parts may explain some of the difference

Thanks Munst, yes, they only use genuine parts. Hope the left doesn’t go too though!

From memory one of them is more labor to do than the other but I cant remember which way around it was.
