2005 D3 2.7 Central Door Locking issue |
|
Hello.
I took my battery off for 2 days and since then i have an issue where the central locking is not working from the key fobs, i have checked the 3 green and white wires, when I took them apart only one had 12V going to it is this correct the others nothing. i cut them and put them back together but to no avail.
i located the RF receiver and unplugged it to inspect the wires, the green wire seems fine but the blue looks like it has been previously repaired as there is a little lump in the cable where it has been heat shrunk back up. would it be worth cutting this repair out and making good ?
the central locking was working before i removed the battery.
it seems bizarre that both key fobs stop working after replacing the battery. could they need re-programming to the car ?
sorry for all the questions i am at a loss with this.

A lump in an original cable is typical of corrosion and a break. I would cut it there, and remake the joint.
But maybe you describe a joint

Try a hard reset, its possible that you have upset a system if you disconnected the battery before waiting for the ECU,s to go to sleep.
