Help identifying dash warning light

Hi all,

I had this light appear on the dash today, I’ve had a look online and in the handbook I can’t seem to find an explanation as to what it means.

I’ve added a screenshot and circle that from a manual I found online. But even that owners manual doesn’t explain what it is!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Lewis

Hi Lawis,

Just had a look at both my dash and manual, that light is supposed to come on when you turn your headlights on, it is an indication light for the headlights.

Cheers

Have you had any updates done to your vehicle lately?

Early vehicles had this light set as a warning light for the fuel burning heater. This was quickly changed to a lights on indicator.

It is possible to update the instrument software to allow a clock on the dash display, 3 flash indicators etc.

If you applied this update to early vehicles then when the lights are on, the fbh warning illuminated. Not a problem.

That is exactly what I did - so my trade off for the three flash is the heater light haha! Any way to turn it off?

(Side note, anyone reading this know if it is possible to get a KPH reading on the screen using the GAP Tool, I belive Disco 4's can, but not 3's?)

It’s useful to know when your lights are on though.

Aye! But as I have an older disco the actual light is for red and is supposed to be the internal heater!

Thanks!

I'm going to reflash the ECU and that should solve it! Clearly the car thinks the headlight icon is in that slot, as it is with the newer models!
