Naked 2.7 TDV6???

I wild shot in the dark...

Does anyone have a 2.7 TDV6 engine out of a car? With a knackered aircon clutch on my RRS, I was hoping someone could be very kind and use a bit of string (or whatever) to measure the length of a belt that bypasses the aircon compressor. Like this (but with tensioners relaxed):



Worth a try?

Does your car have the ACE system fitted? As thats not fitted on the Discovery Andrew

No. Nice to have if you're the first owner, probably a bit of a nuisance after a few years!

I have an answer for you.

I routed a used belt around your proposed loop, that seems fine. With the belt tensioner released (pushed fully back) new belt length is standard minus 34cm, allowing enough clearance to slip belt over crank pulley.

The tensioner takes up approx 4cm of slack. So, I think your ideal new belt length is standard minus 34/ 33/ 32cm. Using this approach calculation is the same with or without ACE fitted. Chris

standard belt length is usually printed on the belt and given in mm.

Well it was on a dayco/fiesta one anyway
