Freeview on a satnav vehicle

Hi again, even though i have some annoying faults I want to keep the car, so I have already asked about dvd, but a freeview system would be good.

Would this do it?

Are there connections into the audio system on the aux channel? What sort of connectors would be required?

Where would you mount the aerial?

Thanks

Is the box all you need to get freeview? Is the signal usually OK? Can you just use it through the front screen or do you need the rear screen to play it?

If you are going to use the front passenger footwell connection for the AUX, then you MUST plug in a jack plug into the rear AUX if you have one. WIGGS was a great help to me when I did mine, and in fact it was not as hard as I first imagined.

So to get DVB in the car you nedd:

1. DVD box as above.
2. Fixing kit? (available from ebay seller)
3. 12V adaptor for above box? (available from ebay seller)
4. The cables to connect box to rear of stereo, I see the cables but are they phono on the other end?
5. Where does the freeview box go?
6. If you upgraded at a later date to put headrest screens in you could output to them no problem (from the freeview box?)
7. Total cost?

Any idiots guide?

It looks like a good idea, might keep the kids quiet when stuck in traffic.
What about if I want to input more in to the screen, such as my phone (video out composite), would I need one of those other boxes you have?

Looks like there is loads of room in there, and lots of fuses, did you tap of one of them?

I dont have "any other boxes" as such.
The screen has 3 inputs ..so you just connect there .

If you want a proper button on your touch screen then your looking at an interface box which range from £500 - £700 Shocked ..not worth it in my opinion.

I have a dvd player which has an aux source in that aswell ..so basically another input.

I use ...

1 input for reversing camera
1 input for dvd
1 input for freeview
1 input as a spare ...to connect anything ..but i use it for another camera

Just plug in here ...and use the diagnotic screen to enable the picture

Yes you can use the fuse box there ...i connected into the rear ciggy lighter as i wanted the power to work only after the ignition was turned to possition 1 ...so it cant flatten my battery
