the old beast has started to drink like a drunken sailor, IID tool tells me my fuel temperature sensor is u/s and my EGR stepper position is zero and doesn't change.the question is where is the fuel rail temperature sensor on this car?

It’s in the leak off pipe. Where the 2 sides come together behind the throttle housing. Red plug on the harness

I replaced the EGR valve on my V6 petrol. EGR valve has the MAP (manifold atmospheric pressure) sensor built into it. It was just having an occasional difficulty starting issue. Once replaced the engine idled much more smoothly, and I noticed an appreciable improvement in fuel consumption.

cheers, the IID tool is telling me the map sensor is fine, i can watch it do its thing but yes its integral with the EGR which seems to be stuck shut, ill pull it out and see if i can get it working if not its a fairly hefty priced item, here in Australia any way

I brought mine on line from a UK website. Genuine (Ford) part cost me GBP284, plus about £30 postage. If i brought in NZ it was going to cost me about NZ$1100. (£1 is approx NZ$2)
Buying anything in NZ that is Landrover, prices are ridiculous.

So I was able to get for about half price I would pay here in NZ direct from UK. Over the years I've brought a few things out of UK (e.g. suspension compressor, O2 sensors, Tow-Trust towbar)
