Right so I have a bad leak, having checked the usual places I have located it to the door specifically the wiring loom pictured but I can figure out how it is getting to there, the loom between the body and door is seated correctly.
Is the black tar stuff normal or as I suspect a prior bodge fix of this leak

There are drain holes in the doors so see if they are blocked. The water would not come through that loom hole, it would come out of the trim holes first. The black tape is normal.
