Just been quoted £1100 by main dealer for a 9 yr service?
Said this includes a Transmission Oil and Filter Change.
This doesn’t show in the Service Schedule so just wanted to check if that’s correct and necessary? Car is a keeper so don’t mind getting it done if needed but just wanted to check if the pricing sounds right too?
Co side ring car has barely moved in last year it does feel like a bit of overkill. I had belts done by same Dealer for the 7yr service and that was cheaper than this one.

I didn't think main dealers changed the gearbox oil or has the facility.
Maybe things have changed

That will be the Transfer box oil, not the gearbox on auto, manual yes.

I thought that, but they mention a filter, and the cost shouldn't be more than a big service.
You can change the transfer box oil yourself for less than £60.

I would ask for a costed breakdown of what they are proposing to do.
Unless there is a pressing reason to use a main dealer I would get the work done by a recommended & reputable indy.

9 year does include oil and filter in Gearbox - JLR have very quietly rolled over and listened to the advice of the gearbox manufacturer and included it. whether to flush or filter change is up to you i guess 05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system

Is it really worth using a main dealer at 9 years old and a car you intend to keep? Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Thanks all. Sadly I haven’t been able to find a good indie near me and the Fixed Proce servicing from JLR so far has been pretty competitive so far - including the chance, until this year to have a days play in one of the courtesy cars.
If you have any recommendations for a good Indie in or around the Harrow area, would be happy to hear it.
Many thanks
