Discovery 3 "Suspension Will Rise when System Cooled"
Hi
I change the Auto box oil today.
Two poster lift wheel's hanging down.
Run the car through the gears and let it down for test run on road.
When the car was back on the ground I had the "Suspension Will Rise when System Cooled" message,
went for the test run, front never lifted and hasn't lifted since, back looks normal height.
Checked and cleared fault codes. No real relevant codes (lights, aircon only)
When I cross the relay I can make the compressor run.
Not sure what to do now, if i press the raise/lower button I get access mode and the back lowers and raises.
Visual check on pipes and valve block's all seems ok. ( but what do I know)
Only other change was I added the compressor cover on Thursday evening (it was missing from car)
It's soaking wet at the minute. Compressor seems really stuffed into cover.
Any help appreciated.

1 more thing to add
when running diagnostic tool it reads compressor temp at 168 C but as far a I can tell
this is withing limit 200 C??

Had similar. My compressor was overworking because I had a leak in front air strut - Compressor finally gave up. Find the leak. Fix it. Or there maybe another reason why the compressor overheats?
Make sure that none of the height sensors are stuck with the wheels hanging low. But more than often its a leak.

If I can't get the front raiseed or compressor to run ( I don't really want to risk running it by bridging relay) is there a way to add air to look for leak.

A copy of the few reports taken this morning
What should gallery pressure be.
Still getting suspension cooling error
Going to have look at sensors and try and find possible leaks
Was it ok before the work, also check that you have not disturbed any wire connections when you fitted the cover. The temp sensor wire can sometimes get trapped when fitting the cover.

All was good until it came off the lift yesterday.
Used iid tool all sensors height etc reading voltage 1.5 to 1.58 v and 5 amps but couldn't get it to make compressor run or raise car. Could hear it release air to lower back.
Now back or front won't rise and compressors still only runs wnen really slot crossed.

I think you'll find that the compressor will cycle off if it reaches 140 C. If the temperature is more than that and it is needed to raise the car you get the "Car will raise when system cools" message. I had exactly the same on my car. The IID said the compressor temperature was reading something like 160ish but it wasn't even hand hot. I assumed a bad sensor but it actually turned out to be a bad connection. All did was clean the terminals in the connector block on the compressor and it all worked fine. Might be worth taking the compressor cover off and see if it's actually that hot.

Ompressor connections seem to have been part of the problem. Removed the compressor cover. And the cars has raised again but still a fault. Some sort of sensor special program not available. (Amber disco).

"Special programs not available" is a standard message anytime there's a suspension fault (I get that a lot LOL). 199C seems unlikely to be something the compressor is actually generating, but either way the car will not want to let it run if it sees that reading. Try just putting your hand near the compressor, you'll soon be able to tell if it's actually at 199C or its a bad reading. Possibly the sensor, but a good chance just the connector. Worth a try using some contact cleaner on the block connector(s) at the compressor.

Thanks. I should have thought it couldn’t be 199 with out melting.
I can’t get some of the connectors apart so there covered in wd40 and I’ll try again tomorrow.

So the car has now raised to normal height but no special functions can't raise or lower no terrain response. (car symbol light sometimes amber other times red)
It all seems to be the three error coded attached.
Will cleaning compressor contacts cure these or is there something else wrong, it's an AMK compressor.
Not sure if it has any relevance but it appears the car has been sitting a while only 600miles done in the last 12 months.

Hi, I'm afraid you reached the limit of my knowledge with the compressor temperature reading. Only knew it was sensor/connection because I'd had the same issue. It certainly looks like you have something else going on than a dodgy connector but you're going to need advice from greater minds than mine. Sorry I couldn't help more.
