Front passenger vibration
Hi. I have a vibration issue on the front passenger side wheel at 50-60mph. Only kicks in when you lift on and feather the accelerator just at the point before it changes down (auto box) it goes once you accelerate hard. So was advised the bearing on the prop was knackered so we changed the complete prop and bearing and it’s amplified and now almost shakes the car to bits. All advise is coming from Land Rover them selves. And it has them stumped. Anyone help cheers

Front passenger side possibly indicates a wheel bearing, drive shaft or diff bearing on that side. The input shaft bearing to the front diff, also on passenger side, can make a noise/vibration.

Hi. Would there be any play anywhere. Wheel bearing are all good and small amount of play in track rod end but not excessive
I do have 21 Range Rover wheels on it but they have been on with no issue for 2 years.
Around that speed is usually wheel balance, how the hell a vibration on the front passenger side of the car can be the propshaft, I think you need to change the garage.
As above check for wheel bearings, drivshaft, lower ball joint..

Don't discount small amount of play in track rod end There should be no play and any wheel imbalance could be amplified by such play. Learnt that 50 yrs ago on an Austin A40.

Only fault that was found weird thing is it made it worse.
Before new prop fitted it was a bit like driving over rumble strip and once new prop went on it now vibrates the full car to bits
have to agree with Flack ... propshaft would be very unlikely.
so if it got worse when it was replaced, and assuming it's not a cheap'n'nasty one, there are two possibilities:
1. they disturbed the real culprit when doing the swap
2. it coincidentally got worse, in which case I'd say wheel bearing has collapsed.

Starting to sound more and more expensive.
Bearings were checked before the prop replacement (Brit part from lr trade parts)
What could have been disturbed. The diff?? Or gearbox??

One does "assume" that they did the bolts up tight and did the centre bearing up tight also. I would be looking to have the shaft replaced (at garage expense) as it may be out of balance. If they changed the front one, then makes it a possible diff bearing problem.

It was the rear prop only. As a say. It was only changed as that was the only fault found on initial inspection.
The guy knows what he is doing around Land Rover.
Been out in it tonight for a quick drive and you do feel it in all gears low down in revs. All at the same point. Just holding it before it gears down. You get vibration. Worse the faster you are going.

Getting a set on tyres on front Saturday just so I can knock that off the potential list of faults.

Must be some "black magic" where you change rear prop for noise up front, but it does seem like it has been installed wrongly if vibration is worse.
