Air suspension exhaust valve fault

I recently had a compressor exhaust fault on 2008 Disco 3 which after purchasing a Chinese copy (which I sent back as it had the same fault). I eventually fixed it by putting a new drier unit on the old Hitachi compressor and giving it all a good clean and has been faultless since.

My Son in law has just purchased a 54 plate which came with the same fault, I cleared the codes with my Nanocom but no change. The compressor had been changed very recently to a Chinese copy so we do not know the history so starting from scratch. I checked the compressor exhaust valve by connecting a battery directly which worked but did not work when powered from the ECM. I bypassed the ECM circuit with a relay which I thought solved the problem.

The compressor started and pressurised just fine, I put it into off-road height, however when I hit normal height the exhaust valve briefly fired (heard it very clearly) and then bing bong same fault. Tried it several times but no joy.

I suspect the rear valve block has stuck closed but no fault is being raised to indicate the valve block which if it was electrical I would have thought it would have done? If it is stuck with no electrical fault I guess the algorithms in the ECM think its the exhaust valve as its seeing no movement from the height sensors so it triggers an exhaust valve fault.

Anyway any thoughts and or electrical diagrams to fault find would be appreciated. Cheers in advance.
Owning a Discovery 3 is like dating a model.. a firm body and shape, wow.. the ride is fantastic >Very Happy for this your wallet can take a pounding and you worry about being deflated at any time...
