P2288 after changing lpfp - Connections?

Hi all,

Broke down when my lpfp failed. Diagnosed through the schrader valve at the back of the engine. Dropped the tank and replaced the unit. My tank cradle was rusted through, so ordered another, dropped the tank again, and refitted with new cradle.

Seemed ok for a day, but now it stalls and throws up engine system failure. If i fir her up she stalls on throttle blip. will do this 5 - 10 times then runs fine. I can drive her around until the next time i leave her for a period.

GAP IID reports P2288 - injector control pressure too high.

I had this when i first got the car, and i had to replace fuel filter, and i noted two pipes were the wrong way round. So could i have done this again?!

Does anyone know which connector on the tank top is which as per the following diagram? I suspect i could possibly have the two smaller ones at 11 and 12 o clock the wrong way round. Is this feasible?

Alternativley the other small one on its own at 4 o clock may not be on fully. it has a rubber neck to it and was on with a hose clip. i'm wondering if the hard plastic hose is meant to fully press on, or just the rubber neck clamps on the tank (hard to explain)

Of could my HPFP be knackered from the lpfp dying?

Been off the road for a week now Sad

Appreciate any advice or comments

Mike

LPFP problems

Hi mike,
Did you solve this problem as we seem to be going through the same issues. REplaced LPFP and now getting code 2288-00 high pressure injector control fault.

Hi.

I didnt get an answer to which pipe goes where.

I did resolve by changing the filter again for an original one. It seems to be so so particular about filters. Check colours match and connectors are on tight.

? Yes. The error relates to hpfp. But for me it occurred after lpfp died. I'm guessing the same for Cecil's.
