Parking sensors....

Right. They've not worked from day one of owing the car. I've never bothered looking in to it but seeing as we're in lockdown I thought I'd give it a bash. Symptoms and findings so far:
On ign, rear sounder beeps for 2-3 seconds and pdc light flashes continuously.
Fault codes: B1B57-11 2f and B1B58-11 2f
Unplug rear loom from module and the fault is the same.
Unplug the front loom from the module and the faults disappear completely but the pdc still doesn't work even with the front ones disabled on the ccf.
Live data at this point just shows N/A
Front and rear looms are fine and all sensors tested and working as they should with a multimeter.
I'm thinking a duff module or wiring shorting out somewhere between the module and front sensors. Are there any common places to look for knackered pdc wiring? What are your thoughts?

Any info/things to look for before I start pulling bits apart would be great.

Thanks!

So with the fronts disabled in the CCF (leave them like that)
and the front loom unplugged

what happens?

You need to release the park brake and select reverse for them to work (So chock wheels!)

Absolutely nothing Pete. It's as if it doesn't even have pdc. No tone when reverse selected, and no clicking from the rear.

Have you got the park brake off?

Is the switch light now on continuously when in reverse

Nope, no light on the switch at all with front unplugged and park brake off.

One thing I have noticed now is that it comes up on the screen "Park brake off, lift switch to apply" when I select reverse which I'm sure it never used to do.

I’d check the Ccf again, ensure you have it set to read only.

I did double check it buddy. Let the car to go to sleep, checked it again and rewrote it again to be sure and it really is like the car has no pdc fitted.

Okay, ignore some of the above. With just the big beige plug plugged in, the fault is still present which tells me that it's definitely either the wiring to the pdc module or the actual module itself. Anyone able to confirm?

you need to leave all the plugs in., because the front loom also carries the power and speaker and command etc

That explains why it was dead.

You could measure the voltage between the black and brown wires by the headlight if you want, with the system on. See if you get 5v or 12v etc

B1B57 and B1B58 faults

Hi again all,

I am slowly fixing my D3 issues and improvements. I am in a battle against my PDC since some time. I had an intermittent failure before. Where sometimes it worked and sometimes it beeped. I changed the bumper and everything with it, so, new loom, new sensors etc... I finally got my DTC reader... the faults were many (because I removed the looms and sensors to test) so I cleared everything and tried again.
The final codes are B1B57 - Front sensors power circuit and B1B58 - Rear sensors power circuit.
Does that mean my PDC module is gone forever? or is there something fix I am missing here?

ps.: just to clarify: it beeps in the rear, if I remove the rear loom, it beeps in the front. Big Cry

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Thanks
Andy.

Were they definitely new looms?

You need to crack out the multimeter and find where the open circuits are.

Thanks mate I will do that again. last time I checked, all was fine. To be honest, I have two looms and 12 sensors (4 to front and 8 to rear), no combination worked so far.

Can it be the module or does it give a different fault?

I'm not sure. Are all sensors clicking when you put your ear to them? If they are, that would suggest they all have power, ground and signal to the module.

Unfortunately, none of the sensors click (rear or front).

I assumed that once a fault is detected everything stops.
