Broken handbrake cable, can it cause other issues?

Could anyone tell me if i have a broken rear right handbrake cable if it would cause issues with the suspension not working?

Not sure if it is related but have replaced the 2 rear height sensors and still showing as faulty.

Hi

Not far as I’m aware that the handbrake would have anything to do with the suspension

Did u calibrate the new height sensors using diagnostics plse , thks

Hi,

I cannot calibrate it as it keeps throwing up the suspension fault and the compressor will not build up air.

Hi

Ah i see, so have u tested to see if u have a leak somewhere and have u looked at the live data of what the pressure the compressor is producing plse

What are the fault codes plse , also what diagnostics are u using

Thks

Hi,

No leaks that i can tell, but as the compressor will not build up pressure due to it throwing the suspension light on i cannot be 100% sure.

The codes showing are (I have changed both of the rear sensors)

C1A74-1C Rear left height sensor mechanism - general electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range

C1A75-1C Rear right height sensor mechanism - general electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range

C1A00-54 Control Module - System Programming failure - missing calibration

I cannot get it to calibrate as mentioned as the compressor cuts out before the suspension lifts up

It is also throwing up a handbrake fault but i would need to scan it again to be able to get the code.

I have a GAP tool (which is not yet set to this car) and i have a MAC Tools machine.

Thanks

I would be checking all the connections and wiring to the rear sensors sounds like a damaged loom or corroded wiring plug. Have you checked the plug behind the battery?

I have checked the wiring but am planning on sticking it back up today and looking again, which plug behind the battery are you referring to? Do you mean the TCCM unit?

Cheers

Not 100% sure but I think there is a left and right sensor so make sure you have the right one in the right place. Embarassed

And both sensors fit either side. Make sure the correct number is fitted to the correct side
