Hi. Being a bit OCD with my cars I'm thinking my '54 plate D3 drivers leather seat could do with some attention. It's not too bad and is still comfortable on long drives but has that sagged and worn look on the outer (o/s) edge. My D1 and D2 suffered the same but you could take both front seats out and swap them around, ie the drivers worn outside edge ended up as the passenger inner edge and was mostly not visable. I'm assuming this can't be done on the D3? Anyone done or had done a seat base refurb that could give me a guide re. price/contacts. I'm ok with removing the seat.
Thanks.

There is or was a bulletin for the failed seat pads. Don't know how long they honour that for. I had my 07 done a long time ago but it was FOC.
The pads and seat covers can be purchased, or if you want to keep the car you could go the whole hog and get the seats recovered. I did that with my D3 also - pics are in my gallery I think. It looked amazing and wasn't as expensive as I'd thought it would be. Certainly cheaper than buying OEM covers from LR at the time.PAGODA

Yes it can be done, four torque screws accessed from under the seat squab hold them down, make sure you use the correct size bit as they are made from monkey metal
They can be swapped straight across but you will lose the seat belt sensor or you can strip them and move the sensor
Or you can renovate them, the picture below is of my 14 year old, it was not torn, if yours is torn swap them, cost Me about a £15 to do it with kit.
Why o why have they moved the switches from that position to the door on the D4
It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Sorry Rob
I know, awful BUT they’ve done a full fat leather replacement and the quality is superb. Spoke to the guy who had it done by them Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Thanks All. Going to try The Only Way is Custom. Not too far away from me and could do with a day out with SWIMBO. The seat edge appears to have collapsed, perhaps through age or a previous owner so don't think a refurb will do it. May need a rebuild. Going to speak to them first and if that doesn't work may go for a swap with the passenger seat.
I'll report back when done.

Yes, think it may be the base cushion but not too sure if I would be able to strip the cover off and put it all back together properly. Don't want to balls it up.

No progress on the seat base yet. going to replace the 2 front pulley belts and oil pump next week. Hopefully that should go ok as I've got a mate who has done one before. Haven't gone any further with the seat.
