Fault codes query Transmission HDC and Engine warnings

About 45mins into my journey last night i had the D3 go into limp mode, Started with Transmission Fault Then HDC Fault Then Engine Fault, Suspension Lowered then Parking Brake Failure and the big F in the gear selector box. Pulled in and stopped and restarted and was able to continue my journey and return home with no issues, then this afternoon the same thing happens.

The following Fault codes were flagged, reading up on the P0087 code it can be linked to Fuel Filter, LPFP & HPFP and others have said that this will flag up when it goes into limp mode so not sure if its anything to be concerned about.

One of my brake light bulbs had blown the other day but this was replaced prior to this issue and nothing had flagged up when bulb was blown.

I intend to check the following tomorrow

battery
connectors and ecu behind battery
brake bulbs again

is there anything obvious going by the fault codes i should look into first?

Martin

Had exactly the same sequence of lights and faults twice in 2 weeks. After the first one it spent almost a week in an LRS, they checked all the usual items, connections, battery, alternator etc but could find no fault and could not replicate it, everything seems to return to normal after it's been left to go to sleep for about 5 mins.

Just waiting for the time when it happens and wont clear...... Big Cry

Just one of those LR3 things I guess, so many little issues that throw the system into a fit... still love it though!

Can’t help directly, but this TSB may help work through those codes to identify the source of the problem.

Working through that

Would seem to be the ‘hard fault’ so guess that would be where to start looking?

been out this morning and checked the following

brake lights - all ok
battery - seemed ok according to voltage but changed it out with a good spare
checked the ecu behind the battery, box was open slightly on one side, but bone dry inside and no corrosion on connectors.

what should the voltage be when car is at idle? mine reads just under 14 volts (approx 13.7) which i thought seems a bit low.

Hello. Did you find any solution to the faults with you car? I hav a D3-07 HSE with exact same faults.

The voltage should be between 14,2 and 14,4.

Hello,

I had exactly the same problem.
3 times, on the highway.
I just changed the autobox at LR 48h before.
I ask them to pick up the vehicle. They told me that the multiple errors came from the EPB.
I do not believe it. The EPB has already been changed 3 years ago.
If we follow the TSB, the error would come from the fuel supply.
I will test it first by following Robbie's tutorial for the low pressure pump.
I asked the workshop to do it. They want at any price to change the EPB ...

I am surprised noone has mentioned the brake light switch yet? I had similar when mine failed with regard to how the car reacted. It happened most if I put my foot down and the gearbox kicked down. A lot of those fault codes may not be related. Have you cleared them and seen what comes back? For the cost, it is worth changing the brake switch to rule out.

I'll verify it but my brake switch is only 1 year old
and when it occurred for third time i was in merging lane, not on braking

on this occasion it was the battery but it has happened again since and the brake bulb seemed to be the issue

bonjour,
avez-vous identifié et résolu le problème. Parce que le mien ressemble fortement au votre.
Je vous remercie.
