Yep you have got it spot on, they (LR) like to make it easy I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Hello newby here, first weekend with truck, loving it.
No maual yet, downloading via TOPIX but wife had the computer and dowloading it in sections is a long process. Sp I need to replace the side light and have no idea how to get at it, as in:
How to remove headlight.
How to remove Grill?
Trying not to break some plastic bit in the removal, like I did with the fog lamps!!
Basically a step by step with pictures would be nice, sorry for being unlearned on this rolling laptop, but I am loving finding out all these things by trial and error. Interesting.

along the top of the grill should be 4 tabs.
push these down a little
pull the top part of the grill out a bit and push the tabs down if necessary
Then take a firm hold of the bottom part of the grill (with both hands)
and pull it off.
on the headlight should be 2 metal sliders at the top.
slide these up (screwdriver or string maybe required)
so the round hole in them lines with the plastic clip
they should then come out.
then unplug

Pete, I think you're presuming he has a D4, D3 grill has two extra catches.
I must admit though, it's impossible to give advice when the person asking the question can't be bothered to fill their profile in. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.

I'm not scared, I'm outta here.

if it is a D4 ... I find the "pull bottom of grille" can be iffy. Hard to stop grille catching/scratching top of bumper.
I use a ridiculously long screwdriver with a 1" blade, get it near the bottom fastening, then twist gently and grille pops out of fixing with minimum drama. I dare say a thin bit of wood would do same. .

and a looped ty-wrap is ideal for lifting the sliders.
