Spare tyre mechanism (again)
Have managed to take off broken mech but it appears to be a sealed unit.
Does anyone know if I drill out the studs whether a rivet in each of them once I've fixed it will be strong enough to hold it all back together?
Thanks in advance

I would imagine a few nuts and bolts (M6?) would be sufficient.
What are you trying to do to it inside?Richard

It has got snarled up inside as I wound it back in without any tension on it
So I want to straighten it all out and then put it back into use.

Take it to bits and have look, nothing to be lost! Drill out the rivets and replace with nuts/bolts as said above, I'm sure there's a thread on here showing a repair - somewhere!
