FRONT PARKING AID INACTIVE

Hi , ive just bought a used disco 3 , the seller told me that since changing a faulty pdc sensor in te front bumper they all stopped working , so i removed the front bumper checked the loom , they all tick , the passenger far end one is quieter but still ticks
none of the rears made any sound , so i stripped the rear loom out which has obviously been repaired before , made a few new clean connections and now they all tick , however im still getting the flashing orange switch & message on the dash saying front parking aid inactive and still dont work , ,
any help / advice is very much appreicated as i dont know where to look next , do i have to somehow reset them ?
Thanks
Paul

no they don't require reset.

Someone with a fault code reader maybe able to tell you which one is faulty

The only other option really is to buy 2 sensors off ebay, and start swapping the new ones in at each possition until it works.
THat is quite painful though Laughing

Get your codes read (ask on here if anybody local can help).
When mine stopped working plugged in IID tool, up came "front right outer" changed that, all working fine know.
Far easier than hit or miss.

Thumbs Up

I’ve read some people had a faulty parking speaker , but surely if that fails the sensors still work but just no audio ? , If someone local to castleford can read the codes I’d be happy to contact them , don’t want to go to the stealers with their extortionate diagnostic rates , they all tick , just can’t understand why I’m still get the inactive message and flashing orange light 😔

If you aren’t getting any noise from the rear when you first select reverse it could be the speaker

The sensor dash button is flashing orange with error message then I wouldn’t mess with the speakers, ask for someone local with IID tool gap to tell you the fault . So much easier than throwing money at parts. I had same issue, all sensors were clicking away but gap tool said front right outer. Changed it and it’s been great since Thumbs Up

Rear Sounder

The rear sounder is the same part for a number of vehicles, so you don't need to spend £30 on a landrover branded one!

I got mine for £12 - it is the same sounder that Ford uses for their fiesta/focus/cmax/transit/kuga - have a look on amazon / ebay.
